It is believed that the MacKinnon family may have come over to Prince
Edward Island from the Isle of Mull, Scotland. This is yet to be confirmed.
The Jackson family came to Prince Edward
Island from Nova Scotia. Their surname was originally Jacklin, but for some reason they changed it to Jackson once they arrived
on the island.
