JACOB, Adeline Simon. Born 1893 (Not sure where, have never been able to find out, but assume somewhere in India). Married in Cawnpore. Married 'Albert Sidney Barrett' in 1914, when she was 21 yrs. We have copy of marriage cert. She also attended the Agra Medical School and we have a certificate dated 1910 to say she completed a nursing course when she was 17 yrs. Died on 2.9.44 in Asansol India. Would love to know anything about her, where she came from, where born, parents names, siblings etc. Have been looking for over 10 yrs.

Bengal 1800 - present. This family was first detected in Howrah in 1832 and then Calcutta until they emigrated in the 1950s. Also researching LARKINS.

JANES 

1800 to 1940 Bengal. Family lore has it that the Janes arrived in Madras with East India Co. as a writer. Rumor also is that one of the Janes was born enroute on ship. Apparently migrating until they end up in Sind (now Pakistan) around mid 1800's. By now involved with the European Indo Telegraph Co. Residing later in Karachee. Also searching for SHARPE, DIBNAH and XAVIER.

JEFFERY

1901-1935. George Henry JEFFERY worked for Lipton's as an Accountant and then for himself Messrs. Geo. Henry Jeffery & Son (not sure exact name). Resided in both India and Ceylon. His wife was Lily Esther. My father (his son) George William Jeffery went to St. Pauls; and  joined the Palestine Police in 1928.  I have wonderful pictures of the Riots of Jaffa. During the peior between the two they were both involved in the Tea Trade.

Bengal 1875 to 1943. My gr.father William Clifford Reid died 1943 and gr. mother Agnes (nee Jones) died 1932. They lived in Calcutta had a big family. Names I remember some names Charles, Florence (my mother), Peggy, Edward. At sometime my gr. father was employed by Allahabad Boys School. Anyone out there any inf. or connection?

1840-1948. My grandfather Alfred Beenham was in the Indian Army Ordnance Corps - he met his wife Dorothy Adams in India - her family were of Irish descent, the earliest name I have is George Walshe (his father was Ephraim Walshe) born 1823 in Ireland. The men all worked in the army, police, civil administration and railways. I have lots of detailed information copied from a family bible so let me know if you are interested in any of these names.
