boy and defended the Lucknow Residency in 1857. He was supposed to have a brother John but no trace of him can be found. There
is a chance he had another brother called William Collins Luffman. Both his( their) parents had died. James
went into the Police and William became a surgeon returning to England 1n the mid 1870's. James died in India and his son
