HALL Bengal From 1800. Captain Thomas Hall gained rank in 1809, he became Major Thomas Hall, gained rank
in 1819 became Commander of the Bareilly Province in Bengal, 67th regiment. He was in Bengal and served in the 13th Native Infantry. He gained the rank of Captain Lieutenant in the regiment on
the 2nd November 1806. He gained the rank of Major in the army in 1809 and in the regiment 14th November 1819, he resigned
from the army on the 18th June 1834, as Major Thomas Hall. Family stories say that he died at the Khyber
Pass during the conflict between Muslems and Hindu's but the conflict did not start until around 1838. He is noted as being married to a Miss Penfold, daughter of Surgeon Penfold, they

My great grandfather Malachy Hanley married Margaret McEvoy in Bengal registered 1873/143/365.
Six of their 8 children were also born there. Catherine

returned to live in England prior to September 1889 when their next child and my grandfather was born in Battersea. Their
child Francis is not listed in the 1901 English Census and may well have died in infancy but I can find no record of this.
Malachy's name is incorrectly transcribed on many documents... including
the following.. Malachi, Mallock etc. Daughter Oonah was apparantly married
in India to Lord George Dundas. If anyone has any information regarding any of the above I would love to

had a baby girl Dulcie Teresa while serving with the Royal Scots in Allahabad. Michael was a Sgt by this time. no. 5118. The birth cert was given by Capt. FH Bradley RAMC. Station Hosp Allahabad.

(1845). Officiating Auditor General of firm of Carr, Dwarkanauth and Co, Tagore, Calcutta. Appears to have retired from the
Army and gone into business in London circa 1845. Secretary of the Mutiny Fund 1857. Perhaps returned to India in 1859? Married

HIGGINSON was an Irish surgeon born about 1841. He married Katharine Sophia Smyth in Bengal
in 1870, and they had 4 children between 1880 and 1889. He was a Civil Surgeon in Gonda in 1880, then Superintendent of a
Central Prison in Bengal. His 2nd son, Graham Ross, was born in Benares in 1888, died in Agra 1925 as a Suprintendent of Police.
