I have extracted all the names of individuals born in the East Indies that are listed in the 1881 British Census. Click on the tabs above to view the surname index. Shortly after I put the index on this website, the census was put online on the Familysearch website. If you see a surname you are interested in in this index, click on the Familysearch link below and it will take you to the Familysearch Census page. Select "1881 British Census" and select "India" as Birthplace and you should get the details. If you don't find who you are looking for or have any problems, email me and I will send you the details.
